Zealand's First Christmas!

We're so happy Zealand made it here before Christmas! We had a nice Christmas just relaxing. Jonathan, Zealand and I got lots of little gifts from my mom. Including a video camera so we could film Zealand's every moment of life! :) Jon and Lynn sent some nice gifts as well! Zealand got a homemade blanket from Granny Lynn. He loves it! It was a great Christmas. Zealand was the best gift of all!
This is the stocking that the nurses at the hospital made Zealand!
Grandma Sharon gave Zealand a Christmas blanket with his name embroidered on it!

New Zealand

We took one look at you and our hearts stood still...

Zealand Lane Ingram was born December 16th, 2009 at 4:24pm at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia. He weighed 6lbs 8oz and he was 19 3/4 in long. This was, without a doubt, the most amazing day of my life! Besides being completely exhausted, the mess that labor does to ones body (I'll spare y'all my details), and nurses with attitude, I couldn't have asked for a better experience to go through.

Two days before I gave birth, I had a scheduled appointment with my midwife and one of the doctors to get Zealand turned because he was breech. PAINFUL!!! After that trauma, they checked to see if he stayed turned. It was successful but they noticed I had low amniotic fluid so they scheduled me to be induced on a Wednesday. I freaked out! I thought, "Two days away? I'm alone! Jonathan is in California and my mom isn't here! How is this going to to work?!" I called Jonathan and my mom bawling (I really should have calmed myself before calling them. I gave them both mini heart attacks) and told them they need to get out here stat. Jonathan got a ticket right away and my mom booked a flight immediately. Jonathan arrived that night and my mom, Tuesday night. Everything was falling into place! My sister was even able to get a flight to arrive Wednesday afternoon. It actually worked out better this way. I was ecstatic!

I was induced at 7am. Jonathan was an amazing help. He was there to comfort me and to let me squeeze his guts out when I had contractions. Labor was so painful but absolutely incredible. He had the cord wrapped around his neck but he was fine. They handed me his slimy little body and I put him on my chest. I was so overwhelmed with joy! Makes me want to cry just thinking about it! He is so BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm a mommy and it is the best feeling in the world! He's mine forever and I love him so much!

I ADORE YOU!

Pregnancy Journey

Here is the progression of my baby's first home. I hope you've enjoyed your stay in mommy's tummy sweetheart! I've tried to make it a spacious place for you to move around in (which you have taken advantage of wonderfully) and a cosy place for you to snuggle up in. I have SO enjoyed you being in here but now I CANNOT wait to meet you! Don't hurt me too bad m'kay?
